Les élèves du Parcours Anglais 3e invités à la réception organisée par la mairie en l’honneur du jumelage.
Vendredi 18 septembre, les élèves du Parcours Anglais 3e se sont rendus au Vieux Couvent afin d’assister à la réception donnée en l’honneur du groupe de Sheringham, venu passer quelques jours à Muzillac, dans le cadre d’une nouvelle visite organisée par le comité de jumelage. Cette réception a été l’occasion pour les élèves d’écouter plusieurs discours en anglais et en français et de mesurer l’impact du travail de traduction dans la communication. Après les discours, Janet, une habitante de Sheringham, s’est volontiers prêtée au jeu des questions préparées par les élèves. Plus tard, dans l’après-midi, Eliza, une lycéenne de Sheringham qui avait effectué un stage au collège en janvier dernier, est venue rencontrer les élèves du Parcours Anglais afin d’échanger sur le système scolaire à Sheringham High School.
Year 10 Advanced English Class Attends Town Hall Reception to Celebrate Sheringham–Muzillac Twinning
Friday september the 18th , our Year 10 pupils from the Advanced English Class were invited to a reception at the Vieux Couvent to welcome a group of visitors from Sheringham, who were staying in Muzillac for a few days as part of a visit organised by the town twinning committee.
The reception was a great opportunity for the pupils to hear a number of speeches in both English and French and to see first-hand how important translation can be in bringing people from different countries together.
After the speeches, Janet, a resident of Sheringham, kindly answered a series of questions prepared by the pupils. It was a great chance for them to practise their English and find out more about life in Sheringham.
Later that afternoon, the students had another exciting opportunity to meet Eliza, a student from Sheringham who had completed a work placement at our school last January. She came to talk to the Advanced English Class about life at Sheringham High School and the differences between the British and French education systems.
It was a busy and rewarding day, giving our pupils the chance to practise their English, discover more about Sheringham and strengthen the links between our two towns.
